Welcome to ACVE!
We work within international cultural exchange and voluntary service, and our programs have been running for over 75 years.
We send young Kiwis abroad for both long-term and short-term experiences that can be truly life-changing. By submerging into new cultures, taking their first steps into the world with support and safety, and gaining global perspectives and newfound wisdom, our programs help shape young people's lives as well as greatly impact on the communities in which they live.
Some call it a gap year, some call it an OE, others call it volunteering abroad.

GIFT VOUCHERS
A gift voucher can be the spark that sets the adventure fires burning inside a special young person in your life.
Gift any amount over $1,000 that can be credited towards any of our programs. The recipient can then apply the credit towards any country and program that they choose for 2026.
Multiple people can pay into the same gift voucher, so it can be a shared gift to help spread costs.
A beautiful gift card is provided for you to present at Christmas (with digital cards also available if desired).
PROGRAM PROMISE
Want to be extra generous and provide that special young person with a complete program opportunity?
Our Program Promise gift lets the recipient choose from a selection of countries and programs, up to a price limit of your choosing, with the program fee covered by you once selected.
The recipient will then only be responsible for flights and any visa costs - a very achievable goal for the young person to work towards and attain.
A beautiful Program Promise voucher is provided for you to present at Christmas.

ACVE is the regional office for ICYE in New Zealand and Australia. ICYE stands for International Cultural Youth Exchange. ICYE has been operating for over 75 years to encourage youth to volunteer abroad and participate in meaningful cultural exchange that promotes diversity, cultural understanding and peace.
ICYE is affiliated to the UN, UNESCO, CCIVS and the European Commission.
