HUJAMBO!
Volunteers are welcomed with Kenya’s vast savannas scattered with herds of wildlife, snow-capped central mountains and traditional peoples who bring soul and colour to the earth. Kenya is well known for its popular wildlife game drives, safaris and animal orphanage centres, attracting people from all over the world. The tropical climate, which is comfortably warm all year round, has volunteers enjoying the long days of light and warmth while getting a refreshing heavy rainfall in the spring. Immerse yourself within one of the many projects and be a part of Kenya’s rich traditions.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
EDUCATION
Volunteers have a chance to work with local children in education centres of all ages. Help with daily teaching of subjects, especially English lessons. Plan and teach extra-curricular activities to students and accompany them on field trips or sports tournaments. Instill confidence, development and growth in all students.
SOCIAL WORK
Volunteers assist with HIV testing and counselling in centres for youth or assist students with physical and mental disabilities. Provide teaching, therapy, social interaction and support for residents.
ENVIRONMENT
In some projects you will have a chance to work in a farming background, with trees and with the local landscapes. Tree planting and seedling growth will help local farmers or try growing food for schools and local village members.
